System in Windows 10

We can find the system configuration in start menu >settings then choose system.


The system features are divided into multiple tabs, most of them are self-explanatory.  We will go through them one by one:

1- Display: Here you can customize your windows 10 display by changing the size of text, apps, and other Also, we can change the orientation ( landscape, portrait ), change screen resolution and adjust brightness of the screen.


2- Notification and action: Here we can choose quick actions shortcut and turn on / off Notification for specific applications as This feature is very flexible and can be the following options:

  • Show tips about windows
  • Show app notification
  • Show notification on lock screen
  • Show alarms, reminders, and incoming voice calls on the lock screen
  • Hide notification while presenting


3- Apps and features Tab: Another alternative to the old program and feature in Windows You can sort your installed apps by name, size and installed date


4- Multitasking: Here you can control how windows are arranged on your desktop, and it has the following options:

  • Arranging windows automatically by dragging to the sides or corners
  • When I snap a window, automatically size it to fill in space
  • When I snap a window, show what can be snapped next to it
  • When I snap resized window, simultaneously resize any adjusted snapped window


5- Tablet mode: This is a new feature with Windows 7 that converts the touch screen of your laptop into a tablet by modifying your icons and desktop to tablet looking user interface


6- Battery Saver: Here you can enable battery saver mode to extend you battery lifetime


7- Power & sleep: Define when your PC sleeps when power is plugged or on battery


8- Storage: Monitor your storage devices free space status


9- Offline maps: Download maps to search for places


10- Default apps: Here you can choose application to reset it default in case there is a problem in it
