Network & Internet in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we will discuss Windows 10 Network and Internet feature

To access Network & Internet feature just type it in the start menu for quick access or choose Network & Internet under settings


1- Wi-Fi Tab: If your connection is wireless, clicking on the wireless icon will show you details of your connection as well as other wireless networks available.

Clicking on Network settings will take you to the Network & Internet window, which presents more specific details about your connection, and options to configure it.

In the NETWORK & INTERNET window, you can turn your Wireless Network Connection on or off.


2- Airplane Mode: Here we can enable / disable Airplane mode, which when enabled it shuts your wifi card and Bluetooth and isolate your machine from a wireless network connection


3- Data Usage: Here you can monitor your network traffic consumption of both wireless and wired (Ethernet) network connection.


4- VPN Tab: In this tab, you can setup your VPN connection that will link you with a secure connection to your company, school, … etc.  All you have to do is click Add VPN connection and will be prompted to enter your connection details.


5- Dial-up Tab: Here you can set up your dial-up connection which is through your PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).


6- Ethernet Tab: In this tab, you can set your Ethernet connection settings which have the following attributes:

  • Change adapter
  • Change advanced sharing
  • Network and sharing
  • Homegroup.
  • Windows firewall.


7- Automatic Proxy Setup: Here you can define proxy settings, if you are in an organization that uses a proxy server to access resources like the internet for example then here is the place to set it up.
