Backup in Windows 10
In this tutorial we will discuss the Backup feature in Windows 10. Backup is an essential maintenance task for anyone seeking to protect personal and corporate information on a computer.
How can we access backup feature in Windows 10?
1- We can navigate to the start menu then click settings and choose update and security, and choose the backup tab.
2- We can type backup in the start menu for quick access.
You can access the Advanced Settings to choose how often the copies and the time saved versions remain will be made. In the case of problems you only have to click on the option Restore personal files and choose the version of the files, you want to restore to its original location.
The backup may take from 10 minutes to several hours depending on the amount of data to be processed even if the computer can normally be used during the process.
How to start the backup process?
1- Choose add a drive button as shown in the above picture
2- A list of available backup drives attached to your system will be displayed, click on the desired drive.
3- Once you do the above step, go to advanced options, a wizard will open up
4- Define the maximum size of your backed up files
5- Choose the backup frequency, the following periods are available (10, 15, 20, 30 minutes or 1, 3,6,12 hours or daily ), choose what fits you based on available storage and data sensitivity.
6- Choose how long your backed up files will be kept before deleted, the below options are available ( 1, 3, 6, 9 months,1,2 years, or forever if storage is not a concern )
7- You can specify certain files to backup by clicking add folder.
