How to Download a Copy of Your Twitter Data?




Twitter allows you to download an archive of all your tweets; this feature is available in your twitter account settings and you can only download it on the twitter webpage.

Downloading the twitter archive allows you to browse a snapshot of your twitter information, starting from your first tweet.




What is great about this twitter archive is that in the output CSV file you will be able to see each tweet date, text and un-shortened URL in separate columns, that gives you a lot of options for searching and sorting options. For example you can sort your Twitter archive by URL. 

If you want to download and view your twitter archive, just follow the next steps:

1- Log in to your twitter account with your phone, email or username on twitter.com

2- Once you logged in, go to your account settings by clicking on the profile icon at the top right of the page and click on it.

3- Once you click on the profile icon, a drop-down list will appear, click on settings.

4- Once you enter to settings, you will see a list of options at your left, click on the “Account” option

5- Once you enter to your account settings, in the middle you will see your twitter information, at the bottom of the page you will an option called your twitter archive, click on the “request archive” option

6- When you click “Request Archive”, twitter will send an email with a download link to the confirmed email address associated with your Twitter account. Go to your email address, log in and once you receive the email, click the “download now” button.

7- Once you click download from your twitter email, you will be redirected to the twitter webpage, log in to your twitter account and then click on the “Download” button, a .zip file of your Twitter archive will start to download.

8- Unzip the file and click index.html to view your archive in the browser of your choice.
